After passing ACET, you should begin with registering as a student member with the Institute of Actuaries of India. For this, you can download the student registration form from the website of the Institute. For your convenience, we have made a link to the application form which is available on the website of the Institute.

After becoming a student member you should choose exams which you want to prepare. Depending upon your education background, you may choose CT 2 – Finance and Financial Reporting or CT 7- Business Economics. These two exams are considered as easy, however they also require equal amount of practice and study hours. Another combination could be CT 1- Financial Mathematics and CT 3 – Probability and Mathematical Statistics. CT 1 and CT 3 subject knowledge is also desired to appear for other CT exams. Hence it is advisable to attempt these two exams first, so that the other subjects can be studied easily. We recommend to write only two exams in a single attempt. These are professional exams and require lot of study hours, even if you plan to attend a coaching program. You must focus on clearing 2 exams each attempt and this will help you to complete the fellowship requirement within 5 years.
